Alphabet disclosed for the first time how much each business unit within Google earned last year, including YouTube.

Alphabet, the parent company of Google, revealed that YouTube’s earnings went up by 36% from 2018. While Google Search makes up about 60% of its total sales, YouTube has been steadily growing and it is reported to be driven by brand advertising.

You might be wondering how YouTube generates revenue besides advertising; Google CEO Sundar Pichai said that non-advertising revenue, which totaled $3 Billion comes from subscriptions — music and premium paid subscribers.

So how much did YouTube earn last year? $15 Billion!
